Dana Falsetta
After graduating with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree from the College of New Jersey, Dana moved to Philadelphia to begin work as a client support and project management contractor for several start up tech software companies. Realizing she wanted a career working with animals, she pursued work in client services for a local veterinarian and simultaneously started the learning journey to become a dog trainer. Along the way she was able to work with animal shelters, zoos, and museums! After eight years of work as an animal trainer and behavior consultant, Dana moved up to Maine with her husband and spent the next six years working in animal welfare in behavior and shelter management. Dana is on the board for the New England Federation of Humane Societies, an educational organization connecting animal welfare organizations throughout the region. Working on the Shelterluv team brings together all the work Dana has done throughout her career.

Dana resides with her husband, two kitties, one adventurous dog, ball python, and a boa constrictor in rural southern Maine. When not at work, Dana enjoys teaching art classes at a local maker space, crafting, and playing games!

Digging Deeper

Spending years teaching, I have a deep passion for connecting with people and helping them to achieve their goals. I love working alongside different people and organizations, learning about their passion for animals, and being able to solve problems through conversation. A collaborative environment can truly lead to more meaningful and impactful work.
